Personal kit containing: needles for 30 treatments, various sizes, 30 alcohol swabs, hand sanitizer, mask, clean field, sharp shuttle, hair ties, bobby pins, eraser, cotton swabs, gotten tipped swabs, gloves, transport container

All additional treatment supplies for the practice clinic, including consent forms and first aid.

PRE-CLASS ASSIGNMENT:
2022 PRE CLASS ASSIGNMENTS

Acu-detox is a unique blend of several disciplines. Completion of these pre-class assignments assures that all students share a common vocabulary and maximizes the effectiveness of the time we have together.

You may use previous experience to inform these assignments

Complete each section and be prepared to turn in all completed paperwork on the first day of class. You may use the course duration to complete the experiential portions.

National Acudetox Association (NADA)

____1. Please familiarize yourself with the NADA website, history and mission: acudetox.com. Read the NADA Mission Statement. Who was Michael Smith? What is the Lincoln Recovery Center? Please understand the following terms: NADA, acu-detox, ADS, auriculotherapy. If you are able, watch one of these documentaries: The People’s Detox, Dope is Death, or It’s First Aid for some more social history on the development of the 5 Needle Protocol.

___2. Find and read a research study on the NADA protocol. There are several on the acudetox.com website. Summarize.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH/ADDICTION

EAST ASIAN ENERGY MEDICINE

_____5. Read an introductory book on the subject of oriental medicine. Or watch a documentary. These are some books I recommend: Voices of Qi by Alex Holland. Or Rhythms of Change by Mary Saunders or Between Heaven and Earth by Harriet Beinfield.
