Hi, I was looking for resources about the logistics of what we need to set up a new NADA treatment group — like what supplies, how many practitioners per number of patients etc. Does anything like this exist?

The non-profit I help run partnering with a addiction recovery group and they are interested in acupuncture in a group setting. I took the NADA training while in school about 5 years ago and use the protocol all the time in clinic, but haven’t set up a regular group yet.

      Thank you!

p.s. I’m in the suburbs of Seattle if anyone is interested in joining me. It would be a paid position.

Good for you. I think the most important factor in creating a sucessful Acudetox group is consistancy: the same date, place, time and more often is better. 1ce/month is too infrequent for our clients and every other week is too confusing.

Things to consider are consent and safety. Think through how you are going to handle getting consent forms signed and stored, whatever record keeping might be needed for your population (for example are they going to report attendence to probation/parole?) and how to keep this consistant if there are different practitioners. I recommend creating a policy and procedures manual and storing it with yur supplies. Usually one practitioner /10 clients is a good starting number. ADS proficency states 20 clients in 4 hours.

Your kit ought have all the supplies indicated in your Training Resource Manual. I also include some crackers and bottled water in case anyone coming in off the street is dehydrated or has blood sugar issues.
