Training
There are two ways to become an Acudetox Specialist:
1. Full Certificate Training: This is a 70 hr. training. It includes 30 hours of didactic training (theory and application) and 40 hours of clinical practice of the technique. There are 3 places that offer full certificate trainings: Lincoln Recovery Center (Bronx, NY), EnterHealth in Dallas, TX and the annual NADA conference. See below for a more detailed description of how to sign up for these ongoing training opportunities.
2. Beginning Acudetox Specialist training: This is commonly a 30 hr. training. It only covers the didactic portion of the training. The trainee is then responsible for securing their own clinical site where they will complete their 40 hrs. of clinical practice. Supervision is required for this part of the training. Each state that has an ADS law varies in its supervision requirement. Check the Laws section on this website or call the NADA office at (888) 765-6232 if you have questions about this.
