Bio

Mark Anthony Wright, M.Ed., began his higher education academic pursuit at Johnson C. Smith University on a track and field scholarship, where he majored in Psychology. After two and a half years of college, he enlisted in the US Air Force, where he completed his Associate of Applied Science degree in Construction Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. Mark then completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the University of Phoenix and received his post-bachelor Graduate Certificate Degree in Cognitive Science from the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC). Mark graduated Summa Cum Laude in the Educational Technology Master’s Degree program at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) with a concentration in Online Instructional Design.

As a student and teacher of Tai Chi, Qigong, Yoga, Holistic Health, and Wellness, and Educational and Psychological Kinesiology, Mark created, developed, and implemented a hybrid course, “An Introduction to Genius & Creativity” and “Now School” curriculum to guide students and faculty in their personal, professional, academic, and life pursuits.

His teaching methodology known as, “An Integrated Kinesthetic Approach to Cognitive Learning,” uses cognitive and neuroscience research to design and develop online and hybrid education and professional development curricula to enhance student and faculty learning in both the secondary and post-secondary educational learning environments.

Mark is a solutions-driven scholar with an innovator’s mindset who incorporates teaching and learning principles from learning and brain sciences and has a passion for unlocking and cultivating the human potential in youth and adult learners.

As a former Curriculum and Training Manager for Linchpin Solutions, Inc., Mark led a team that included instructional designers, technical writers, and a virtual reality (VR)

software programmer for the redesign of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Logistics Training curriculum. As part of the redesign, Mark and his team successfully designed, developed, and integrated a virtual reality (VR) training simulation for the FEMA Logistics Systems (LSCMS) Manager and Specialist training course that is required to be taken by all FEMA LSCMS employees.

Mark was the recipient of the 2014 NCCU School of Education’s Outstanding Innovation in Educational Technology Award. Mark worked as a curriculum developer at the University of the District of Columbia Community College and as an educational technology adjunct professor at the University of the District of Columbia Van Ness main campus.

Mark is currently the Senior Instructional Technologist for the BJ Moore Center for Faculty Innovation at the great Bethune-Cookman University. Mark’s goal is to establish his Neuro-Holistic Learning Initiative for Academic Excellence program at an HBCU and work with high schools, colleges, and other youth and student organizations to create a pipeline of prepared young Black scholars who are ready to take the helms of leadership and advance the legacy of Innovative Genius and Black Excellence at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

We are the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association, an organization that trains people in the NADA protocol to treat trauma, substance misuse, abuse, and mental health conditions.
