This training is designed for providers and mental health professionals seeking NADA ADS membership status. Participants will receive an introduction to community-based treatment models with an emphasis on behavioral health, addictions, and trauma recovery. The training covers the NADA 5-needle ear acupuncture protocol, providing proficiency in administering treatment.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate understanding of auricular acupuncture applications in substance abuse, behavioral health, and wellness communities.
- Accurately needle the 5-needle protocol points at the beginner level.
- Demonstrate proper clean needle technique and biohazard safety.
- Increase clinical decision-making skills for diverse patient populations.
- Demonstrate understanding of personal and professional bias towards diverse cultural groups.
Training Highlights
- Hands-on practice with model ears and live models.
- Discussion of the “Dope is Death” documentary.
- Review of acupuncture and herbal medicine concepts related to addiction.
- Exploration of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and language matters.
- Community clinic experience.

- Training materials provided including manuals, practice ears, and ear seed kits.

- Requirements: Mandatory attendance for the entire scheduled time. Completion of 40 supervised treatments post-training (An independant supervisor may require a fee, details and options will be provided during live training, in syllabus/course outline, and follow-ups).
