The NADA 5-point protocol and clean needle curriculum will be covered in this 3-day training. This will cover the standard manual provided by the NADA registered trainers. Trainees will gain a thorough understanding of the history and benefits of the Acudetox protocol. During this training, participants with gain theoretical and practical knowledge of the 5-point NADA application to address issues related to addiction, trauma, and stress. They will receive hands on supervised experience on NADA ear acupuncture. The syllabus and agenda cover specific state laws regarding the practice of acudetox, ethics, evidence-based research, resources, and complete manual.
Agenda Day 1: The history of NADA protocol and the NADA model, Point description, ear beads and needling techniques, Partnerships with clients, communal treatment approaches, consents and approaches to care.
Day 2: public health and regulatory concerns, exposure and clean needle practices, research and acudetox. Integration and sustainability of community clinic in a milieu.
Day 3: Eastern medicine in the context of addiction and behavioral health recovery and harm reduction practices, client management issues and strategies with various populations, NADA om trauma, disaster and crisis relief (prevention and trauma relief), Ethical and legal issues, model of understanding addiction and behavioral health. Each day will also be devoted to practice of the NADA 5-point protocol.
