Schedule: Friday to Sunday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Location: New Orleans, LA
Duration: 21 hours of didactic instruction, 40 hours of practical treatment experience, and 9 hours dedicated to reading and home study.
Course Goals and Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants will be equipped to:
Identify the specific acupuncture points, their names, and the techniques for needling used in Acudetox.
Gain an understanding of the history and foundational principles of the NADA organization.
Engage in discussions on the application of the NADA protocol within integrative pain management contexts.
Assess patient conditions for any potential red flags or contraindications to the use of NADA protocols.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of addiction, PTSD, and trauma, and how Acudetox can be an adjunctive support in these conditions.
Course Description:
This professional-level course offers participants the opportunity to obtain a nationally recognized certificate in the United States and Canada, linking them to the global community of NADA Acudetox practitioners. The training focuses on the NADA Acudetox protocol, pioneered by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. This protocol aims to support individuals undergoing substance use detoxification, alleviate cravings, and address PTSD, trauma, and overall well-being through the strategic insertion of acupuncture needles at five specific points in the ear, known as the NADA Five-Point Protocol.
Acudetox represents a specialized form of auricular acupuncture that has gained popularity for its effectiveness in addiction treatment. Recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services and integrated into the treatment programs of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs alongside traditional acupuncture, this modality has proven its value. Completing this course not only enhances your skillset but also opens avenues for collaboration within integrative and mental health care settings.
