Carolyn Mandrusiak, a Registered Acupuncturist in British Columbia since 2005, holds a Doctoral Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Alberta. Carolyn completed her original NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) training in 2004 with Dr. Willo Jordan-Walker, who also served as her mentor in the registered trainer qualification process. Prior to starting a practice in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Carolyn spent over 20 years in the Health and Social Service field in northern Canada. A former CEO of an NWT Health and Social Service Board and Superintendent of Social Services, she is familiar with western systems and has worked extensively with a variety of professionals, NGO groups and numerous programs areas, including addictions and mental health. She operates Spirit Gate Consulting, a private TCM practice on Gabriola Island BC. Carolyn brings together her knowledge of modern western systems with ancient eastern philosophies of health to benefit individuals and communities.
Carolyn has taught several NADA courses in Western and Northern Canada and feels it is a privilege to do so. It not only has the impetus for social change but has the capacity to bridge diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
